Abstract

The role of press and media is significant in providing information about incidents and events, facilitate the readers and the audiences with factual information that helps in their perception or opinion of the incidents or events which create awareness among the people
and the society about the looming challenges that would seemingly intimidate harmonious living at both individual and collective level. In Print Journalism, the process of ‘NewsGathering’ is important since it initiates and catalyses the process of communication. NewsGathering is carried by individuals and groups depending on the intensity of the event or incident. The tactics of journalism news coverage play an important role in our perception of a protest and its legitimacy in the public agenda-setting.
