Impact of the covid-19 pandemic on Indonesia’s economy

Abstract

The spread and increase in the number of COVID-19 cases occurring at a very fast time willhave an impact on the decline of the Indonesian economy. This study aims to determine the impact of theCovid-19 pandemic on the economy in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a systematic review inwhich many previous journals used descriptive qualitative analysis related to the economic impact inIndonesia caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the research results, this research shows that thepolicies made by the government in handling COVID-19 can indirectly lead to a decline in economicgrowth in Indonesia. The impact on the economic sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesiaincludes layoffs, the occurrence of Indonesian Manufacturing, decreased imports,increased prices(inflation) as well as losses in the tourism sector which led to a decrease in occupancy. Strategic fiscal andmonetary steps are needed to provide a stimulus package for those affected and the Indonesiangovernment to be more alert in dealing with the decline in economic growth in Indonesia resulting fromthe COVID-19 pandemic.
