Abstract

(TRIPS) The agreement on trade-related intellectual property rights, which being overseen by WTO, enables the protection of hidden information, integrated circuit layout designs, industrial designs, and traditional knowledge, as well as the recognition of patents, copyrights, trademarks, geographical markers, and other intellectual property rights around the world. A brief history of
intellectual property rights in connection to the Indian pharmaceutical industry is provided in the current article. It is said that the 1970 patent policy's impact on Indian business was a revolution for the country's economy. There is a brief discussion about compulsory licencing. Finally, the Indian pharmaceutical market is used to discuss trademarks as intellectual property rights
