Abstract

Education is a key driver to the development of any nation. One of the fundamental ideas of education is to create skilled human resource, which can rise above developmental barrier of a particular nation. This can be achieved with the aid of a satisfied work force in the educational sector. Increasing teacher job satisfaction in most cases would lead to commitment of their efforts and time thus, resulting in high job performance and better student academic performance. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence job satisfaction among teachers in Jerash Governorate; it also aim to investigate whether teachers job satisfaction affect their job performance and thereby having a ripple effect on the academic performance of students. The study revealed that the job satisfaction of teachers in terms of their work condition, responsibility, salary, professional status, relationship with their colleagues and the administrative style of their employer influence their job performance. The job performance of the teachers is often reflected in academic performance of their students.
