Material Culture Of Assam: An Analytical Study

Abstract

In general, folk culture has been categories in four broad categories oral folk culture, social folk mores , performing arts and material culture. This paper discusses the material culture of Assam, which is one of the major constituents of folk culture. Material culture includes physical objects, resources, and spaces that people use to define their culture that has been carried forward with tradition and social customs. This paper analyses different types of material culture, various objects and resources associated with it, their utilities and relevance in the human lives in Assam.
