Abstract

This study investigates the relationship of educational expansion and educational inequality in Pakistan using panel data of 99 district. The study verifies the presence of inverted U-shaped relation of mean and dispersion of education that is known as Education Kuznets Curve in the literature. Findings of the study validate the inverted U-shaped relationship between educational inequality and educational expansion using standard deviation as measure of educational inequality. Education inequality rises at first and after a threshold it start declining. This threshold lies at matric level of education for pooled data while it varies between matric and inter level of education if separate model is estimated for each year.
