Learning Media for High-Functioning Autistic Student Using Video Sharing Platform during the Pandemic

This research is motivated by a pandemic condition which has implications for the transformation of learning. Previously learning course was held face-to-face in offline class, however currently rely more on online learning media. This study analyzes the importance of learning media for students with special needs, especially in the HFA (High-Functioning Autistic) category. This research uses Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning and data collection using mix methods both qualitative and quantitative research, as well as exploring advanced analytical from the video sharing platform specifically provided for HFA students. This study shows that learning media using YouTube for HFA students is considered to be effective. This learning medium is easy to use, can be played repeatedly
as a tutorial, videos help in practical assignments, also there is a subscribe feature which can be utilized to remind
advanced materials or links to the previous learning materials. This study also shows the beneficial potential of YouTubeas a learning medium as an application that is familiar to be used by students.
