Problems of Education And Teaching Through Teachers' Perspectives: The Case of Bismil District

Abstract

It is a prerequisite to determine the problems of teachers experienced in the educational process in terms of their perspective and to produce solutions to these problems. In this research, it was aimed to examine the problems experienced in the education and teaching process in terms of teachers' perspective. For this purpose, a descriptive research approach was adopted and data were collected through openended questionnaires from a total of 105 teachers, 42 males and 63 females, working at various levels and branches in Bismil District, in Diyarbakır province. The obtained data were analyzed by inductive content analysis. The findings were categorized as; teacher, school and learning-teaching, student, familial and social, administrative problems. According to this, teachers express the problems of education and training which are waiting for solutions in different dimensions of the education process and its components. In this context, regardless of the content and source, every problem expressed by the teachers affects the
educational process and these problems are waiting solution. Neglecting these problems causes to emerge different problems over time and becomes established. It is necessary to solve the problematic issues that are affecting the education - teaching process with approaches of solution - oriented by decision makers.
