Abstract

This research article examines the performance and accountability of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha in India's democratic framework. It assesses the efficacy of these institutions in representing the will of the people, ensuring transparency, and upholding democratic values. The study employs a qualitative approach, analyzing parliamentary debates, legislative processes, and committee reports to evaluate the functioning of both houses. Additionally, it explores the challenges and reforms needed to enhance the democratic functioning of the Indian Parliament.
