Abstract

This paper reviews empirical studies on the impact of trade liberalization on economic development. The review shows that trade liberalization is associated with increased GDP growth, job creation, and technological advancements. However, it also leads to income inequality, industry displacement, and environmental concerns. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for maximizing the benefits of trade liberalization while mitigating its negative impacts.
