The Expression Of Causality In Scientific Articles: A Linguistic Analysis Of Causative Verbs And Their Impact On Argumentation
Abstract
Our article is part of a search for causal sequence analysis in scientific articles in order to know the involvement of causal expressions in argumentation in these articles. So we have selected various articles from the ASJP platform that deal with artificial intelligence because of its emergence to pick up the sequences expressing its cause either explicitly or implicitly with a focus on causative verbs. This research has reinforced the idea that causality is an essential element in building a solid rhetorical structure, and that it is not limited to explicit linguistic markers but covers a wide range of linguistic tools including names, adverbs and verbs. A critical reading is therefore required to identify and identify the true cause-effect relationships in order to promote a precise understanding of scientific communication.
