Oral Approach or Situational Language Teaching has its origin in the work of applied linguists of Britain 1920s and 1930s. The movement was led by Harold Palmer and A.S. Hornby. They try to give a scientific approach to the teaching of English. The result and method of teaching was a systematic study if principles and procedure used in a language course
