Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the teachers’ views with regard to teaching English as a foreign language in multigraded classrooms. The participants of the study consisted of ten (five females and five males) class teachers. They were all graduated from Faculty of Education. Semi-structured interview form was used as a data gathering tool in research. As a summary, when findings of this study were examined, it was seen that class teachers had difficulty in teaching English due to many factors. Among these factors, the most important was that they did not know English as well as a foreign language teacher. Insufficient time and material were also the most noted barriers to teaching in multigraded classrooms.
