School Administrators' Opinion about Organizational Culture

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the opinion of organizational culture and whether they differed
according to some school and demographic variable. This descriptive survey research was carried out in the
2011-2012 academic year, with 382 school administrators who were working in public elementary, secondary
schools and other public education institutions in Burdur province. Research data was collected by "Personal
Information Form" and “Organizational Culture Scale" which was developed by İpek (1999). As the result of
this research, administrators’ opinion about traditional organizational culture was at average level, on the other
hand their opinion about contemporary culture was high level. In addition, it was revealed that school
administrators’ opinion about traditional and contemporary organizational culture were not significantly different
according to gender and seniority. However, school administrators’opinion about traditional and contemporary
organizational culture were different as statistically significant according to school administrators’ school type
,who were working at being school principal or vise principal, branch, education background, working duration
in the same school, and school is in the city, country or village.
