Chaotic Process in the Assignment of School Administrators and Its Effects

In this study, the experiences of the school principals dismissed and not employed again in 2014 and the chaotic process starting with this are discussed in detail according to the findings obtained by the interviews with those schools principals. Data of the study were collected via qualitative analysis. 14 school principals were interviewed by semi structured interview forms and all interviews were recorded to prevent data loss. Data analysis was carried out with Nvivo 10 software program. The participants of the study asserted that they found the process highly subjective, their dismissal from their duty as school principals doesn’t rest on any objective reason; on the contrary, the process was a result of arbitrariness and nepotism. The school principals argued that this process brought about damaging results on the education system in general and schools, school members, newly assigned school principals and themselves. The findings and comments and suggestions obtained by the results are expected to contribute to the discussions related to this field and principal assignments that will be carried out in future.
