Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the views of information technology teachers working at
Vocational High Schools. The sample of the study consisted of seven information technology teachers working in
Aydın Province and its districts in 2009-2010 academic year. Semi-structured interview form was used as data
gathering tool in this study. The teachers answered a total of 14 questions in about 20 minutes. The qualitative data
was analyzed through content analysis process. When the findings of this study are examined, it could be seen that
there are crucial problems such as assessment and evaluation process, module content, needs of in-service
education, and lack of training materials in modular education. On the other hand, it could be seen that modular
education has positive aspects such as providing specializing facilities for teachers. Regarding these results, some
possibilities on group implementation process in teaching and learning are also provided through modular
education.
