This study is performed in order to find out the opinions of science teacher candidates on scenario-based
learning (SBL). The research question is as follows: What are science teacher candidates’ opinions on SBL before and after
the applications? Six teacher candidates contributed to the research which was performed in 2008-2009 educational year. The
research process was planned as action research. Teacher candidates were presented seminars about SBL and they wrote the
scenarios in the fall semester. The scenarios were applied in the spring semester. Semi-constructed interviews were
conducted before and after the applications. The candidates had changes in opinions about ‘contribution of SBL to the teacher
and students’, ‘problems and solution in application’, ‘considerations for the preparation phase’, ‘methods and techniques to
be used with SBL’ and ‘interaction with teacher and students’.
