Abstract

The aim of this research is to compare the teacher performance appraisal model based on multiple data source and teacher performance appraisal model administered by the inspectors in accordance with teachers’ opinions. Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in this study. Quantitative data were obtained with a questionnaire applied to 162 secondary school teachers. For the analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaire, frequency and percentage techniques were used. Qualitative data were obtained with three focus group interviews which were made with 27 secondary school teachers. While analyzing qualitative
data, descriptive analyze method was used. As a result of the study, in terms of occupational development, teachers perceive teacher performance appraisal model based on multiple data source more useful than performance appraisal model administered by the inspectors.
