The Effects of Social Skills’ Training on Elementary School Students’ Social Adjustment

The aim of this research is to study the effects of Social Skills’ Training on the social adjustment of elementary school students. The sample of the study includes 38 students in the 4th and 5th grades (18 girls and 20 boys). In this research, pre- and post-test research model with control group has been used. This study has been conducted on control and experiment groups. Walker-McConnell Scale of Social Competence & School Adjustment and Personal Information form improved by the researcher have been used to collect the data. The results of the study indicate that social skills’ training is significantly more effective on teacher-preferred social behaviors, peer-preferred social behaviors and on students’ social adjustment to school.
