Abstract

The aim of this study is to design a valid and reliable measurement tool to find out the primary education school pupils’ self perception levels of their problem solving skill. Total 568 pupils consisting of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in eight primary education schools participated in this study. As a result of the factor analysis, the Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the inventory consisting of 24 items about three factors (12 items about self confidence in their problem solving ability, seven items about self control and five items about avoidance) was found to be 0,80. This is the first and original inventory that has been designed with the aim to determine the primary school pupils’ self perception levels of their problem solving skill.
