Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of case-based curriculum. A case-based
curriculum was developed and implemented in two different experimental groups with two different
techniques as Case Based Learning (CBL)1 and Case Based Learning (CBL)2. In CBL1, the instructor
first presented the content of the unit and then used the cases. In CBL2, the instructor directly started with
the cases without presenting any content. Summative test was developed in order to specify students’
achievement through curriculum objectives. The data was analyzed by Covariance Analysis (ANCOVA).
The research findings revealed that there was a statistically significant difference on students’ total
achievement level as well as students’ learning levels on knowledge, comprehension, analysis, and
evaluation between experimental and control groups in favor of both experimental groups. The
quantitative results apparently showed that experimental groups performed better than control group but
no significant difference was recorded between two experimental groups.
