The aim of this study is to examine the role of human values in predicting trait anger and anger
expression styles in adolescents. A total number of 302 students (182 girls and 120 boys) participated in the
study. In this study, human values were measured with “Moral Maturity Scale”; trait anger and anger expression
styles were measured with “State-Trait Anger Expression Scale”. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 16.0
statistical package program in .01 significance level. All data were analyzed by t-test, correlation and regression.
According to the findings of the study, it was seen that human values significantly predicted trait anger and anger
expression styles (anger-in, anger-out and anger control). Implications of these findings are discussed and
suggestions are presented within the context of literature.
